Salon Billing Software Price Comparison India: What You Actually Pay

Every salon software’s pricing page says “affordable”. Almost none of them say a number. Here is how the Indian market actually prices, what the quotes hide, and how to compare honestly — including where we sit in it.

The price bands in India

Salon software in India clusters into four bands:

  • Free / freemium: ₹0, monetised via ads, upsells or your data. Fine for a solo chair; the ceiling arrives fast.
  • Budget: ₹500–₹1,000/month. Billing, appointments, basic customer records. This is where most single-branch salons should be shopping.
  • Mid-market: ₹1,000–₹2,500/month. Adds marketing tools, deeper analytics, multi-branch, integrations.
  • Enterprise/chain: ₹2,500–₹10,000+/month per location, usually quoted “on request” — which means “depends on how big your chain looks on the sales call”.

For calibration: EaseSeat is published openly at Elite ₹849/month and Premium ₹1,149/month, with a ₹229 one-time setup — deliberately in the band where a single-branch salon’s decision should live.

The comparison checklist

Put every quote through these questions:

  1. Monthly or annual-only? “₹599/month” that must be paid ₹7,188 upfront is an annual contract wearing a monthly costume.
  2. Setup and training fees? ₹0 to ₹15,000 across the market. Ask before, not after.
  3. Per-branch pricing? A second outlet can double the bill. Get the multi-branch number in writing even if branch two is a dream.
  4. WhatsApp/SMS costs: included, passed through at Meta/telecom rates, or marked up? Per-message markups are the industry’s quietest revenue line.
  5. Feature gates: is the thing they demoed in the plan they quoted? Reports and staff payroll are common “next tier” surprises.
  6. Exit terms: can you export your customer and billing data if you leave? (If this answer is fuzzy, everything else is irrelevant.)
  7. Support: ticket queue, chatbot, or a human? At what hours? Saturday evening is when salons break.

The total-cost view

Compare two honest examples over a year for one branch:

  • Vendor A: “₹699/mo” + ₹5,000 setup + ₹0.40/WhatsApp message marked up (~₹500/mo at moderate volume) ≈ ₹19,400/year
  • Vendor B: ₹1,149/mo + ₹229 setup, messages at pass-through rates (~₹300/mo) ≈ ₹17,600/year

The “cheaper” sticker lost. Always compute the 12-month number with your real message volume — a salon sending 3,000 reminders and invoices a month lives a very different bill than the one in the brochure’s fine print. And redo the math at your volume, not the vendor’s example volume, which is always suspiciously small.

What most vendors won’t tell you

The software fee is the smallest cost of the decision. The real costs are switching pain (data migration, staff retraining — which is why vendors tolerate mediocre products; leaving hurts) and the price of features you’ll never use, bundled to justify the tier. A ₹2,000/month plan whose marketing suite goes untouched is a ₹1,000/month product at double price. Buy for the workflows you run weekly — billing, appointments, reminders, staff, GST — and treat everything else as a tiebreaker. And distrust any vendor whose price only exists inside a sales call; pricing that hides is pricing that flexes.

Where to go from here

Whatever you choose, insist on: public pricing, exportable data, pass-through message rates, and a human you can reach. EaseSeat’s numbers are on the pricing page — nothing “on request” — and every account, at every tier, gets a Relationship Manager on WhatsApp rather than a ticket queue. If a quote from anyone (including us) confuses you, the questions in our FAQ are the ones to ask them.
