EaseSeat vs Fresha
Fresha is a marketplace first and software second: a polished booking platform whose real promise is new clients from its consumer app, paid for with per-staff fees and a 20% first-visit commission. EaseSeat is subscription software for salons that want their WhatsApp — and their client list — to stay their own.
Every price and fact below is sourced from Fresha's own published pricing or independent review platforms, linked at the bottom — so you can check us.
Why salon owners choose EaseSeat
- ✓You want flat pricing however many staff you have — Fresha charges per bookable team member, so a 10-chair salon pays ~$150/month before commissions
- ✓You want your client relationships on your own WhatsApp number, not inside a marketplace account your clients sign up to
- ✓Your customers ask questions before booking — EzzyChat answers prices, timings and availability and books, in 12 Indian languages
- ✓You are in India: EaseSeat is GST-native, UPI-first and priced in rupees; Fresha has no INR pricing or India presence to speak of
- ✓You never want a commission conversation — EaseSeat takes 0% of your bookings, from any source
The narrow cases where Fresha fits
- →New-client discovery from a consumer marketplace matters more to you than anything else — Fresha's marketplace is real and does bring bookings in its strong markets
- →You are outside India, in a market where Fresha's marketplace has liquidity (UK, EU, US, UAE)
- →You want integrated card processing with terminals and BNPL at competitive rates
- →A phone-answering AI matters: Fresha's AI Concierge ($99.95/mo per location) answers calls as well as messages

The honest summary
Fresha's marketplace is not vapour — in markets where it has consumer liquidity, it genuinely brings salons new clients, and paying 20% once for a real new client can be sane customer acquisition. If discovery is your single biggest problem and you operate where Fresha's marketplace is strong, it deserves your shortlist.
The costs to weigh honestly: per-bookable-staff fees that scale with your team, a 20% commission owners repeatedly dispute the attribution of (charged on clients who searched the salon by name), clients required to hold Fresha accounts, and — since the free model ended in 2025 — recurring 'bait-and-switch' complaints in reviews. An independent July 2026 analysis put real monthly costs ~70% above the sticker.
In India specifically, the comparison is short: Fresha has no rupee pricing and no real India presence, and its WhatsApp is a notification channel. EaseSeat is built around the way Indian salons already work — WhatsApp conversations, UPI, GST — with an AI receptionist answering those conversations around the clock.
The verdict
For Indian salons: EaseSeat
Fresha has no INR pricing, no India presence, and charges per staff member plus 20% commission on marketplace clients. For an Indian salon, EaseSeat is GST-native, UPI-first, flat-priced with unlimited staff — and its AI actually answers your customers on WhatsApp instead of just reminding them.
Questions owners ask
Is Fresha really free?
Not any more. The free unlimited model ended around March 2025. Today it is $19.95/month solo or $14.95/month per bookable team member (US pricing), plus 20% commission on new marketplace clients and payment-processing fees. An independent 2026 cost analysis found typical real costs run about 70% above the headline subscription.
Does Fresha work well in India?
Fresha publishes no INR pricing and has little India-market presence — Indian software marketplaces list it as 'Price on Request'. It is strongest in the UK, EU, US and UAE, where its consumer marketplace has real liquidity.
Fresha brings new clients — what does EaseSeat do for that?
EaseSeat is honest about this: it is not a marketplace and takes no commission. What it does is stop you losing demand you already have — EzzyChat answers and books the customers who message your WhatsApp (including the 11pm ones), reminders cut no-shows, and campaigns reach your own customer list. Your client data stays yours.
